National Board Certified Equine & Canine Bodywork Practitioner | Equine Lymphatic Therapist | Equine Hoof Care Professional

For the Love of Animals

I incorporate a variety of bodywork modalities and approaches in my work with animals as an Integrative Bodywork & Massage Practitioner for animals. This allows me to work in ways that best suit the current situation with an animal, and customize the session to their needs in the moment:
Kinesiology Taping (Equine or Canine):

I travel nationally to work on location with my clients, however, for some this isn’t always ideal or they are seeking services sooner than later. In these cases, I offer remote bodywork sessions, which have proven to be just as effective as on location sessions. Remote bodywork sessions can also be really useful for animals that are going through challenges that make working in physical contact with them, or traveling, difficult.
In-person sessions include a basic Postural, Hoof and Limb assessment.
Equine Bodywork Session (60-90 minutes):
Canine Bodywork Session (60-90 minutes):

I work with horses and their owners to help with cellulitis, chronic progressive lymphedema (CPL), sheath swelling and scar tissue, eye allergies, sinus issues, and other swelling conditions. I help horse owners manage, care for and gain more knowledge about their horse’s swelling condition and how their equine healthcare team can work together to give your horse the best life possible even with these types of health challenges.
If you are tired of the roller coaster ride, uncertainties, and stress of lymphedema conditions, please reach out so we can talk about what can be done for your equine companion. CPL can’t be cured but it can be managed.
Manual Lymph Drainage Packages (~90 min sessions)

I offer a few options for Professional Hoof Care to best tailor your horse’s hoof care and wellness needs. As a hoof care practitioner, my focus for hoof care is how hoof and lower limb imbalances affect the whole body from the hoof up. Trim sessions, depending on pathologies and/or hoof care needed (rehabilitative/overdue versus maintenance trim) can be expected to take from 20-40 minutes, and potentially longer, if a horse has difficulty standing or there is more hoof work that needs to be done to ensure the horse is properly balanced and comfortable both standing and in movement.
Complementary 30-minute Zoom or phone consultation.
*Further travel fees based on distance (please inquire based on your location)
Fee is waived for multiple animals being seen in the same trip at the same or nearby locations (for both bodywork and/or hoof care services).
As an Equine Bodywork Practitioner, I integrate multiple modalities to best meet the needs of your horse at that time, based on what type of activities they do and any performance, injury and/or other health issues that may be occurring as well. My approach is centered around a holistic, whole body perspective from the hoof up. I am always happy to collaborate with a horse and owner’s veterinary and farrier/trimmer team.
As an Canine Bodywork Practitioner, my goal is to help each dog regain its body’s fascial, muscular and other connective tissue’s balance, thereby allowing your dog’s body to be able to better heal and function the best it can. As with my approach to equine bodywork, I use multiple modalities integrated together to individualize your “pup’s” session so they can maintain health, wellbeing, mobility, function, and reduce pain and/or discomfort.
As a Hoof Care Professional, I am predominantly a barefoot trimmer. My training includes: being a mentee of the International School of Integrative Hoofcare (Daisy Bicking) and Progressive Hoof Care Practitioners (PHCP); a mentee and professional student of Dr. Karen Gellman’s Professional Postural Rehabilitation program; and apprenticing under Tony Lokason, a farrier that does corrective hoof care using cold shoeing techniques in the upper Willamette Valley of Oregon. I see equine hoof care as a lifelong learning journey with continuing education and in-person intensives a huge part of my ongoing professional training and knowledge building. It’s so much more than trimming, the whole hoof and the leg and body above it, as well as pathologies are very important to know about as well, in order to provide the best hoof care possible.
As part of advancing my skills and knowledge I am in a Professional Postural Rehabilitation training that encompasses equine posture, it’s importance to the wellbeing and everyday functioning of horses, what affects posture, farriery considerations in the holistic picture of posture (it’s HUGE!), normal/healthy posture, compensatory posture, posture rehabilitation, bodywork’s part in this holistic picture, etc. This is an integral piece of my assessment with your horse (or canine). Both hoof care and bodywork include taking a look at your horse’s (dog’s) posture, both statically and in movement, as either a part of your regular bodywork or farriery appointment, or documentation session.
My aim in every session I do is to help you and your animal thrive together in a way that enriches both your lives.
I work with equine and canine of all ages, sizes and breeds; from performance and working equine and canines, to seniors and pets in their sunset years.
Dani took the time for Milo to become accustomed to her before any work commenced. She was very patient with him; he is an anxious dog. It was worth the time spent. Milo responded well to Dani, and once bodywork began, he accepted her and never tried to pull away or protest. All her work was so caring and gentle. There was the one time at the end that Milo licked Dani with such delicacy it made me think that he was thanking Dani.
I was raised when people were less patient and more dismissive of animals. The work done for animals presently was not known way back then. I am so pleased that there are people such as Dani who know what to do to help them live comfortable and healthy lives.”
Judy B. – Canine In-Person Bodywork
Dani is exceptionally empathetic and warm in her demeanor toward both humans and animals. She made me and my horse feel safer and welcome in her presence. Dani brings an extraordinary level of attunement to every interaction, with a deeply profound respect for how she treats you and your animal. I was grateful for the opportunity for her to work with my horse.
My horse seemed calm and confident with Dani in her energetic remote work. In my observations of my horse after Dani’s remote bodywork sessions, my mare seemed more settled in her body, and her attention was turned inward, like she was aware of being touched.
My horse was a complex case since pain and inflammation have been involved, but I have noticed a soft change in her after the sessions. She seems more settled.
I look forward to recommending Dani to others!”
Sarah O. – Equine Remote Bodywork
“Dani is very gentle and caring and very aware of how my horse was feeling, which allowed my horse to feel very comfortable and at ease.”
-Equine In-Person Bodywork
“Dani really tunes into the horse. The horses really appreciate her work. I have one super sensitive gelding and he melts under her touch. Dani was very careful to go slow with him and she let him know she was listening to him.
My horses all enjoy their sessions. My mare is a no-nonsense kind of girl and she really enjoys her sessions.
The session reports after the session are very useful. I learned that my horses had tight areas that I was unaware of.
I highly recommend Dani.”

“Dani has done a wonderful job working with my horses. My guys are not the easiest to do bodywork with and having Dani taking her time and getting to know them made a difference. Dani helped me rehab my horse when she got a pretty severe shoulder injury. She helped to stabilize the shoulder as it was hard to do stall rest and keep her still for a good period of time. She continued to do her work and with time and hard work my horse is able to be back into work and sound to do the activities I want to do. It’s is rare to find an animal bodyworker that does all animals let alone have so many different methods that cater to each animals’ needs. Dani brings passion in her work and it shows by the way the animals recover or feel after a session with her. Additionally, the diagrams and notes post-session were extremely helpful in helping me understand what is going on with my horses’ body and connect them to behaviors undersaddle or during workouts.”
-Equine In-Person, Equine Remote, Kinesiotaping Application, and Lymphatic Massage Sessions
“Dani’s care and attention to my dogs and horse were unparalleled. The time she took for them to get to know her and be comfortable with her was superb and resulted in some very relaxed and happy animals that were able to receive some much needed acupressure treatments. Pookey, who is a rescue pup, normally is very distrustful of most people but warmed up to Dani immediately which was a very nice surprise!
I loved the session reports so I can understand what areas I can also work on for my animals to continue their healing journey.
I would definitely recommend Dani to others! Very professional, knowledgeable, and thorough…highly recommend!!!”

“Lacey is my heart horse, my partner in life’s adventures, and my teacher of all things horse.
She started showing lameness in the front end a few years ago and I knew it was her feet. I went through countless vet exams and farriers only to be dismissed and told it’s arthritis, it’s her age, and/or she’s being lazy. I did injections, PEMF, chiro adjustments, medications, and modified exercise programs until one day she just stopped trying.
I was told to put her down by people who had watched her decline; and I almost did. That’s when Dani entered our lives, and literally saved Lacey’s. She listened to my concerns, and most importantly didn’t tell me I was wrong. She worked with Lacey doing bodywork, and was able to offer recommendations that actually made a difference.
After a fresh set of radiographs, we found it was in fact Lacey’s feet that were the issue — extremely thin soles! We discussed booting and shoeing options, and set a date for Dani and her colleague, Kristen, to come out and put composite shoes on, with boots being worn until then.
These ladies took the best care, time, and attention to the process, and explained what they were doing every step of the way; and Lacey has been sound ever since.
I am so grateful for both of them taking the time to listen create a plan and literally change my sweet mare’s life.”
– Equine Hoof Care
“Dani is amazing with my little dog, Sadie. She took the time to build a relationship and set the tone for the bodywork sessions, which I really appreciate for my little girl. Dani is a gem in the animal bodywork field. She really cares and has the ability to use multiple modalities during a session. It’s not a one size fits all, at all. And Dani’s session reports are so helpful and provide valuable information to help me understand what is going on for Sadie and how she’s progressing each session, as well as things I can do between sessions.”
– Canine In-Person Bodywork
I started my journey in this field on the human side of things as a human bodyworker, corrective movement specialist, and chronic pain specialist for 33 years; as well as coaching distance running athletes. In 2022, I decided to change course from my human career, and turn my attention to animals full-time. As a prior veterinary technician, Search and Rescue K9 trainer and handler, dog handler for the first woman to win the Iditarod Dog Race in Alaska, and time spent on my grandparents’ ranch with their horses, cattle and other ranch animals, much of my life has been spent around animals.
I am Nationally Board Certified in Small Animal Acupressure (SAAP) through the Northwest School of Animal Massage (NWSAM) and NBCAAM; and a National Board Certified Equine Bodywork & Massage Practitioner (LAMP) through the School of Applied Integrative Therapy Equine and NBCAAM. In addition to integrative bodywork and massage, I am a professionally trained Equine Lymphatic Therapist through the Holistic Equine Academy of Lymphedema (HEAL). Lymphatic Therapy can help horses with systemic or localized lymphatic congestion/edema/swelling/allergies and cellulitis through manual lymph drainage (MLD), kinesiology taping (per proper and appropriate protocols), and owner education and mentoring, for management of their equine’s lymphatic condition in collaboration with their equine veterinarian team.
In addition to my bodywork practitioner trainings, I am constantly taking continuing education to learn new and advanced skills and knowledge for both equine and canines, one such advanced training is being a mentee and professional student of Dr. Karen Gellman’s intensive Professional Postural Rehabilitation program.
My training in professional equine hoof care is a combination of apprenticing with local farrier, Tony Lokason; formal and advanced study through Daisy Bicking’s International School of Integrative Hoofcare, Professional Hoofcare Provider Certificate Program; Progressive Hoof Care Practitioners (PHCP) Professional Hoof Care Certification Program; and being a mentee and professional student of Dr. Karen Gellman’s Professional Postural Rehabilitation program mentioned above.
As a practitioner and hoof care professional, I take a lifetime learner approach. This allows me to tailor my work with my animal clients and their humans in ways that are best for them.
Memberships I belong to include: NBCAAM, American Association of Equine Therapists and Technicians (AAETT), Veterinary Compendium, and PHCP.
